Potipot Island is a small island located at the mainland shore of Uacon in Candelaria, Zambales. It is a perfect campsite for adventurers and backpackers. The island is surround by fine white sand and trees are lined along the shore that provides shelter for sunlight.

There are no hotels in the island but cottages are available for rent. We were able to book at Potipot Gateway resort from the mainland before we rode a boat to Potipot Island.

Before you reach the Island of Potipot, you have to rent a motoized boat from the main land. A bangkero will assist you and the travel time to the island took us 15-20 minutes.

Since the island is small, you will have the time to walk around it and feel. It is a nice place for relaxation and be away from the hassle in Manila. No wonder, Potipot Island is fast becoming a popular tourist spot in the Philippines.

There are no activities available in the island. You just have to feel cool, relaxed and enjoy the beauty of nature around you.

There are also natives around the island and I was able to talk to a few children. I heard their stories on how they survive their everyday life in the island. It breaks my heart and burst me into tears. I can't help nor do anything about their situation, but to pray for them is the least that I can do.

The enjoyment, the beauty of this island and the encounter with the Potipot kids are enough reason for me to be thankful for the wonderful gift called life.
